The 4 km-long beach has every modern facility, particularly in terms of safety. The beach is cleaned daily, to meet the strictest standards. There are some wilder areas to the east, on the left bank of the river Orb. Here, the fauna, flora and sand dunes are protected by the coastal conservation organisation. You can visit this beach by crossing the Orb by ferryboat. A team of organisers ensure that there are plenty of sporting activities on the beach. These include children's games, jogging, gymnastics, volleyball, sandball. Before getting into the sea: Check the colour of the flag.
Green : Swimming is allowed (no danger)
Orange : Swimming is dangerous
Red : Swimming is forbidden
On the beach : If there is a strong wind, make sure your parasol is well secured. Guard against sunstroke. After spending a long time on the beach, get into the sea slowly to avoid immersion syncope (fainting). For reasons of hygiene and safety, animals, bonfires and vehicles (except for police and rescue vehicles) are forbidden on the beach.
